fook the brexit arseholes who have ruined the possibility of moving somewhere sunnier in the brief blink of time between retirement and decrepitude.
fook them!
Let the Tories NEVER BE ALLOWED TO FORGET THIS.
Every time they say "oh that's over now yah yah let's talk about boring banking shit instead" may they be metaphorically pummeled back onto the floor to be berated with a list of all the ways in which they have fooked life for British people.
Cmon Labour get demigood and keep them out for a century.

And in that century fill the absurd house of Lords so that Tory legislation can NEVER AGAIN be easily passed. In perpetuity.

You know you can still live in lots of these places just by showing a reasonable level of income, right ?
https://getgoldenvisa.com/portugal-d7-visa#:~:text=The%20minimum%20requ….
You could move to Portugal with income of about £8k a year.
And if you take care not to spend too much time back in the UK, you could save serious tax under NHR

Didn't you run a thread last week that we all need to stop dwelling and accept it?
Cracking sunshine in London today. Just smashed a 10k run. Gonna smash a 2e next, and read the paper.

It is sunnier and warmer here in southeast England.
Except in certain weather setups in winter where it can actually be colder

One of the biggest myths of modern life is that money doesn’t buy happiness. It does.

Money may not buy me love but a furnished flat can buy a reasonable simulation

Yeah but most people have personal lives that don't lend themselves to just fooking off. I'd rather have everything i have here than live in europe but it's annoying not to have the easy option for both. I definitely don't want to be a permanent ex pat i just want to be able to winter in nice places.

And do temporary projects that involve an occasional trip to Europe for a meeting that is tbh mostly about the cake.
And bring back unlimited wines.
And not get sneered at by bloody Germans.
Ok that last one is unrealistic.

Annoyingly I don't think my literally better when it comes to being able to drive half would agree to this but will note it for possible lady trips 😃
You can't enter at all for work related stuff without the full visa so a lot of cool light stuff is killed off.
Plus when we are of an age to do this the absence of an ehic will be a fcker.

Does this bite if you just go to say Madeira for the whole of February with your laptop in order to do work for your UK clients through your UK sole trader or small limited company business ?

It's not really the fault of Brexit tho.
Lots of countries have visas for freelancers etc.
But you can't do that in law because it's regulated up to the eyeballs.
Blame your chosen profession, not Brexit.
That's what I do, for the reasons given. (Well, also because I have an EU passport )

As someone said above, if you have the money there are lots of countries you can move to. Easier to make money than to reverse Brexit. So stop complaining and get minted.

This is also why the OP should support Ukraine. Once it triumphs over Russia and is admitted to the EU, it should be easy for Brits to get a passport there.

It's raining today and still no thoughts of brexit.
