Vegans... in denial about 3 million years of evolution.
Marvellous First World issue. They should be encouraged. If people are genuinely concerned about veganism and it's actually newsworthy, there can't be much serious wrong in the UK.
The Helmsleys menu looks good but why are they against grains? What's wrong with grains? They say 'gluten' but hardly any grains other than wheat have gluten. Oats and barley are v v good for us.

how many animals do you reckon are killed indirectly through large-scale crop farming?
unless you're going to grow your own grub (planting spuds and chickens etc), there's no way to be vegan AND be kind to animals

Yeah I know I know and apparently even avocados aren't vegan because they enslave bees to make them

for my kids' birthday party guests I've already had to separately cater for halal, a nut allergy and a dairy allergy
anyone that chooses to be vegan and impose it on other people can FTFO

I notice with no surprise that no-one has a favourite vegan restaurant. Cranks, in Covent Garden?

Jesus Cranks has been closed since 2001. I was thinking of Food for Thought but it has closed too.

Oh come on!
What can you worry about that's more serious than finding a vegan restaurant?!
For goodness sake! Just think of the animals!
