thats the odd thing, potatoes have gone up in price massively, but would have thought they were similar in terms of cost of production.

Potatoes famously suffer from blight so I think need more spraying and the like especially if the weather is wet.

Where all other rational possibilities have been excluded one must draw the inevitable conclusion that carrot farms are being subsidised by the League of Red-headed Gentlemen. 

They must be cheaper as potatoes though, surely?
