An Irwin Mitchell paralegal has been banned from the legal profession after he was
uncovered fabricating documents and providing inaccurate information to clients (or forging and lying, as they're known).
Irwin Mitchell notified the SRA after it became aware of Simranjit Singh's actions. According to the SRA adjudicator, Singh, who worked in the firm's Sheffield office, falsified two emails and a faxed document. He also told clients the incorrect information about their settlements, told others that they would receive more compensation than had been agreed and didn't tell some that they had received offers at all.
In a statement Irwin Mitchell said it "took appropriate disciplinary action" when it discovered one of its paralegals was acting like a saboteur, and that Singh had not worked at the firm for almost two years. Now he will not work at any firm without the leave of the SRA, which decided that it would be "undesirable" to allow Singh to be employed by a solicitor or legal practice. Just to be on the safe side, it has also prohibited him from running a law firm.
A spokeswoman for Irwin Mitchell said “We strongly condemn any activity that contravenes the SRA’s regulations", and that "none of our clients have suffered any financial loss as a result of Mr Singh’s actions”, even though they might think they have after Singh promised them the moon.

Those managing the firm need to take a look at themselves and ask why these sorts of things are always happening.
