The sordid private life of a partner who was getting it from a hooker has been laid bare in court after they sued each other for harrassment.
The 68-year-old lawyer, identified only as 'AVB' in proceedings*, and the Chinese prostitute, who was also a law student, testified how he became a regular after persuading her to waive her £350 fee in return for writing her essays. He also provided her with a glowing reference for a paralegal job, vouching that she "has done legal research for me", which is one way of putting it, and set her up as a client of the firm when she needed a conveyancer.
Unfortunately AVB was also a fan of 'negging'. He told the woman, who was in her early 20s, "you are so easy to wind up...I like to arouse your darker side". The court heard how his preferred methods of 'arousing her darker side' were threatening to tell her parents she was a prostitute and sending her texts such as "Go die in a hole street walker" and "ROT IN HELL HERPES MOUTH CHEAP HOOKER".
In revenge she emailed an invoice from 'Elite Girls Ltd' to all the partners in AVB's firm claiming his payments for 'Miss Tiffany' were overdue (AVB said his colleagues were "actually very decent about the whole incident"). Matters escalated when she set up a fake Facebook account in his name and used it to fire off disturbing messages to his daughter. AVB responded by hacking into her skype account and calling her contacts to tell them she was a prostitute. One witness recalled answering a call he thought was from his friend, only to see a "slurring" old man on his computer screen playing a video of himself having sex.
A thoroughly unimpressed Justice Tugendhat upheld the escort's claim for harrasment and dismissed the lawyer's. In his judgment he said AVB's behaviour was "exploitative and manipulative" and that he clearly "took pleasure in provoking" the younger woman. Whoever he is, he sounds like a joy to work for.
*though Tugendhat also described him as a recently retired Jewish lawyer with one son and two daughters who divorced in 2010 and helped to build a small but successful London firm, giving those who might know him a fighting chance.

Religion I suppose only relevant to the extent it narrows down the field of London ex-solicitors - judgment suggests he lives in NW3.

Not at all, but Mr Justice Tugendhat obviously felt this chap was a bit of an a***hole and that it would be amusing if he was easily identifiable to friends and acquaintances. Which is fair enough really.
