yes - see how much richer without exception every country becomes when it joins the single market. If there were never any protests or discontents at all within a single market of hundreds of millions of people and 28 countries it would be absolutely extraordinary. That there are so few is still remarkable testament to how well it works.
IN THE MIDST OF A COST OF LIVING CRISIS THE LAST THING PLUCKY BRITS WANT ON TOP OF EVERYTHING ELSE IS THE PROSPECT OF CHEAPER FOOD AND DRINK THANKS TO BEING IN THE SINGLE MARKET!!
As Rees Mogg says, we are demonstrating our freedom by choosing to give the EU free access to our markets while our exporters face restrictions. Bravo indeed!
Surely the point is that it is working well - French are griping as their inefficient methods can't be protected by a captive market, so the consumer is better off. Cf. UK where we either a) take back control, so the consumer will pay more for protected inefficiently produced goods or b) let everything in due to a desperate populist govt, so the consumer pays just a bit more to reflect our woefully undervalued currency, and exporting businesses get fooked.
Pretty sure that any tighter restrictions than may be imposed by law for safety reasons will have been set by the relevant AOC so it's a basically them complaining that they suffer higher costs because they produce a higher quality product which commands a higher sale price. Which is fine until the consumer says "Nah, we're happy to drink shit wine"

Brexit is a failure.
I know it. You know it. And no amount of attempting to deflect attention with this kind of posting will change that.

Hmm, it's very kind of him to argue that in a statue and pigeon economic situation we shouldn't have any part of it because we'd be the pigeon.

Don’t worry Barney, we’ve kindly given those French farmers unfettered access to the UK market
our own farmers don’t have reciprocal access of course but that’s presumably the EU’s fault for not giving us what we want…

For the 15 posters above who haven't read the link, this is economic war is a breakdown in the internal market of the EU.
Has nothing to do with Britain. We left the single market. We are not part of it.
500 different businesses staging this attack is pretty significant.

Why are Spanish wine growers allowed to use chemicals but the the French aren’t? I thought there had to be minimum standards for production in the EU
