When they say the public sector is lazy and slow are they looking in a mirror?

Supply side reform will mean cutting benefits to force people into jobs ofc

Would be so fooking funny if Kwarteng had to quit already

Supply side reform means binning thr Northern Ireland Protocol Bill and ironing out the wrinkles with the EU.
A few weeks means a few months, unless Germany gets on board now they've lost Nordstream Both.

Yup wide spread cuts will be announced. Why do they need to wait weeks though - surely they already have a list of things to get rid of. Time isn’t of the essence apparently

Big bang 2.0 incoming, apaz.
Not sure if it's a Guy Fawkes type event, or something else?
0
16
Apparently 20% of all non-working over 50s are currently on NHS waiting lists
This time cuts will work I'm sure
0
21
You mean because they'll die?
0
22
The nhs should definitely be prioritizing the healthcare need of the working over the non working.
0
19
What about those who aren't working because they need an op to be able to do so?
1
16
Or those who are not working but take care of grandchildren so their kids can work
2
20
And when you retire will you take the view that shrug your tax dollars were a gift so you'll gladly eke out your days in agony ?

Yes all those “non working” old people and children should go to the wall

14
Johnny, I would count them as the working. The implication was that these were long term tax eaters.
2
19
What about the long-term tax dodgers, and the huge offshore industry that enables them?
I'm sure we can agree that the govt. can do a lot to recoup losses from these non-contributing members of society?
0

Everyone should pay their lawful taxes Johnny, certainly. The govt have run three or four disclosure/settlement windows now re offshore and they never raise anywhere near what’s expected. The idea that there’s millions in uk taxes to be raised by tackling offshore evasion is simply a myth I’m afraid

Worth a go though.

17
Sure chimp if you want to waste resource. Far more to
be gained by focusing on cash businesses in the uk tho I would suggest.
0
29
Those people probably need the cash though. Let’s get you and yours instead.
0
20
I’m not sure how you can get ‘me’ chimp. I fully pay all taxes due, in the uk and jersey.

15
In fact Hmrc owes me the princely sum of £18 plus interest at the moment 😂
2
28
Don’t you facilitate tax avoidance? Must be a few loopholes we can look at.

16
Fancy that, when the disclosure window opens the cupboard is suddenly bare!
I am reminded of the time the head of Corp Legal in a large UK PLC happily told me about the sweet deal they had with the Lux govt. whereby they were allowed to shift huge amounts of assets out on the eve of a tax declaration date, and back in again the day after. Just one tiny example of such ratfūckery, all done perfectly legally.

28
Are there chimp? I’m not really sure
jonny, the disclosure facilities have essentially been limited amnesties coupled with very high fines for non disclosure. Maybe people just aren’t worried. But with crs/fatca disclosure there’s nowhere to hide income

In a storied rof career of ludicrously ill informed statements, epic self-pwns and trollfaced shitposts, this has to be up there among the dumbest in all categories.
Virtuoso stuff. Riskys hand of god moment.

Royalty, the nhs already pritoeise the fit and young over the old…. You’ve just jumped the Shark with your ‘faux’ outrage
2
19
You’ve got cancer? Sorry to hear, we can definitely try to sort that ou - oh wait you’re retired? Sorry, get the fook out of the way, a bloke who spends his life setting up offshore tax wheezes has got an uncomfortable genital rash and we have to prioritise that for some reason

To be clear, the comment about 20% of over-50 non-workers being on NHS waiting lists was meant to imply that the biggest bottleneck in Britain's productivity is our rotting public services and cuts will only make this problem worse.
0
20
I don’t use nhs resources chimp, but that’s the general picture. Many of you on here including you and royalty would be happy taxing the elderly more. This is a variant of that: they can pay for private healthcare if they wish
0
17
Well it looks pretty stupid doesn’t it
0
17
So does your mum

18
damn it

Apparently government departments have now been told to find spending efficiencies. So phase 2 of this manufactured crisis begins…

We should ration NHS care and prioritise marginalised groups TBH. Level up that 10 year life expectancy gap.
