Part two of the most wonderful and strange legal stories of the year for Asia Pacific.

Spats
Some lawyers got involved in disputes outside of the workplace. A lawyer in Australia was sent a shirt decorated with penises after getting into a squabble with her tailor. A Lima law firm boss picked a very odd time to troll Chambers & Partners. And a Baker McKenzie lawyer may be regretting her romantic fling with sports presenter Richard Keys after being harassed by his daughter.

Court news
A number of judges seemed to revel in having a captive audience. One judge put together a no-holds-barred instruction manual for interns, which included the warning: "don't come in with a two day metrosexual stubble. This is not a nightclub". Another judge dished out peculiar praise by saying that a drug dealer defendant had a "good business model". And one judge liked the sound of his voice too much when he took four days to read his judgment

Certain lawyers have incurred the wrath of the court, such as the Clifford Chance partner who was rebuked for coaching a witness for the stand. And a vain lawyer was investigated by the police for taking a selfie in the High Court. In an unrelated matter, the selfie lawyer is now suing a Kennedys partner for defamation

Law firm highlights
Linklaters announced a Saudi alliance, but used the unfortunate wording that the firm would help with “executing” deals. Hopefully it won't cost them an arm and a leg. An Allen & Overy associate in Dubai was hospitalised with exhaustion after working many 18-20 hour days. And Taylor Wessing looked a tad stingy when it revealed that some of its trainees in Singapore would not be paid. In a B-movie scenario, one firm was overrun with crabs

Commendable lawyers
Kudos to the Jones Day lawyer who broke the Guinness world record for running the marathon in a 3 piece suit. Congratulations to the lawyer who completed the New York marathon in a wheelchair, after she was paralysed last year.

A light clap goes to the Quinn Emanuel Managing Partner who released a candid diary of his trip to Everest with details of yak poo and not having enough pillows. And scraping the barrel for recognition was the lawyer who built a Viking long boat, but didn't know how to sail it.

The engagement story of the year goes to lawyer who proposed to an Ashurst associate as their plane fell 24,000ft.
