" Rishi Sunak taking a brave approach to small talk at a brewery in Wales. He asked workers if they're looking forward to 'all the football'. One quickly pointed out that Wales haven't qualified for the Euros"
I had expected the polls to narrow over the course of the election campaign, but at this rate they are going to widen. Sunak is an appalling campaigner.
I presume at some point somebody is going to say he needs to "concentrate on running the country" and stop marauding around the country putting his foot in it and looking a tit.
I actually think FF is right and Rishi's own team are trolling him. It's the only explanation. Why on earth, after the absolute disaster of day 1 would you send the PM on day 2 to a brewery? He doesn't drink alcohol (at all, ever) which is fine, but it is going to make him look a bit of a weirdo when, having gone there, he won't taste anything. And then of course he puts his foot in it over the football. This is really driving a 'how did hapless out of touch tw@t Rishi fvck up today on the campaign trail' narrative in the press and on social media that is going to absolutely slaughter him going forward.
I predict that day 3 is going to be devoted to showcasing his small physical stature in some way that makes him look ridiculous. Maybe they will have him doing the family shopping and put all the stuff he needs on the high shelves or do an interview with him sat on a chair where his feet don't touch the floor or maybe he could meet the England rugby team. Bonus points for asking them if they are confident about their chances in the Euros...
I think he’s playing basketball against the Scottish womens team and they’ll just throw the ball above his head piggy in the middle style for 20 minutes while calling him a dozy English prick
Didn’t realise he was tee total, just thought the sight of rishi getting all muddled up in a brewery was a caption writer’s wet dream
Getting local councillors (or activists) to be 'ordinary voters' for the purposes of asking questions or whatever is pretty normal for all parties I think.
Bojo has said he will 'do his bit' or something like that but I can't see him wanting to be associated with this train crash if he can avoid it. He'll be thinking he can come back after the slaughter I suspect.
its now being reported that the 2 people who asked him questions in the biccy factory were tory councillors. Coincidence, eh
IF A NUMBER OF TORY COUNCILLORS HAPPEN TO BE IN A FACTORY WEARING HI VIZ VESTS AT THE SAME TIME AS THE PRIME MINISTER VISITS THEN WHY SHOULDN’T THEY ASK QUESTIONS?!?
I know lots of MPs really (or claim to really) enjoy canvassing and think it is a valuable exercise in winning support but I am not sure it is in Rishi’s case. He’d do better staying in Downing Street.

It's obligatory at some point in a campaign to be pictured sipping real ale. How's he going to manage that?
