Americans pride themselves on their justice system. What is going to happen today is not justice. This woman is a psychopath and she and her father should serve the remainder of their lives behind bars.
I really can't tell you how angry I am at this plea deal. Jason's twin brother is one of my closest friends and he is devastated today. I need to rage but keep him calm at the same time.
Injustice. And I knew from day one this would happen.
Respectfully a minimum sentence of 17 years in jail doesn’t seem outrageous . Based on healthcare in prisons it’s essentially a death sentence to the dad and a block on any meaningful life /relationship with kids before their maturity for the wife
though I’m not sure where AEMP got the idea of a minimum sentence from given the judge has said he has the option of probation without a custodial sentence.
They weren't aquited (that would be double jeopardy), they were sent for retrial due to the trial judge not allowing evidence from the children. The reason that evidence wasn't allowed was that the children were in HER custody when the statements were taken.
I only met Molly once and that was at a benefit golf tournament in memory of Mags, Jason's first wife, and I found her to be very odd indeed. Her lawyers in court yesterday said they were going to present evidence that they believe Jason murdered Mags. This is preposterous to anyone who knew them.

How many classes of manslaughter do they have if they're pleading guilty to class D?

Class D is the felony level. Class A would (I think) be 1st degree capital murder.

She had a brick on her nightstand because she and his kids were going to paint it?
That's like saying the frying pan was in the study because I was planning to have pop-tarts for breakfast.
