Mao Sugiyama, a Japanese illustrator and amateur chef, has been charged with indecent exposure after serving up his surgically-removed genitals to diners who paid £160 a head for the pleasure.

Sugiyama, who has also had his nipples removed, had the strange elective operation earlier this year. His bits were certified free from infection and stored in a freezer before being sliced and fried with mushrooms and parsley. They were then served to five lucky customers. The Japanese gastronomes had responded to an advert Sugiyama had placed on twitter, reading "‘I am offering my male genitals (full penis, testes, scrotum) as a meal for 100,000 yen (£800). I’m Japanese."

  How it may have looked

Sugiyama was supervised by a chef as he prepared his coq au vin. A crowd of 70 watched as the five brave souls, who had signed a disclaimer absolving Sugiyama of responsibility if they fell ill (as a result of a nut allergy, perhaps). The other 65 chose from a menu including beef and crocodile.

Under Japanese law, cannibalism isn't a crime. The best prosecutors could come up with was indecent exposure, which carries a maximum two years in prison, and a potential 2.5 million Yen fine.

Only one question left unanswered: was their morning movement different from the usual? A bit woody perhaps?

If he's going to jail, I suggest he visit the surgeon again and get his ass sewn shut. Otherwise, he won't be asexual for very long!
