Rick Kordowski, founder of notorious website solicitorsfromhell.com, this week starting proceedings against Law Society Chief Executive Des Hudson. Just weeks after the Society went after Kordowski for defamation, harrasment and breach of the Data Protection Act.

As previously noted, Solictorsfromhell works on a very simple premise. Joe Public is invited to share its views on the legal profession after (largely bad) experiences with solicitors. Lawyers finding their names traduced on the site (and let's be honest, you're bound to have a look) must pay £299 to have their listing deleted. Eighteen months ago, RollOnFriday reported on the first libel case against the website, as claims of extortion abounded.

Kordowski was unrepentant, saying that this was just an admin fee and adding that there was no value in suing him as he had no money. And now he's claiming an impressive £1,000,000 after alleging Hudson labelled him a "criminal" whilst speaking at the BBC. He will, unsurprisingly, be representing himself.

The Society reacted with unusual speed to confirm the existence of the claim and to state that "liability is completely denied and if proceedings are issued we’ll apply to strike them out."

Since last April Kordowski has lost every case against him and stacked up a fair pile of unpaid judgments.

Vexatious litigant ? Surely the Law Soc can afford to apply for that declaration.
