Job Summary

This role will provide the operational backbone of a fast-growing privately backed ultra-luxury adventure travel company. With sales in the multi millions, this role will suit a dynamic and ambitious individual looking for a first experience of general management within an SME in a fascinating and dynamic industry.

Whether negotiating long-lease helicopter contracts to work with superyachts or developing permitting for conservation work in remote rainforests, this role will present unique and interesting challenges across all operational aspects of the business.

Supporting all areas of the company, this is a pivotal position is on front line in growing our business.

The role should become a right-hand person to the CEO. 

 

General management

  • Management of company KPIS and company data
  • Coordination and presentation of monthly dashboards
  • Internal project management
    • Management of internal improvement projects
    • Workflow support – Identifying areas where efficiencies can be created to improve workflow within the business
  • Contract negotiation and management
  • Role currently has 2x direct reports – a junior Operations Associate and an EA

HR

  • Management of HR processes
  • Manage efficient recruitment in a rapidly growing business
  • Hire and manage a pool of consultant freelancers to allow for temporary uplifts in volume of adventures

Risk and Compliance

  • Regulatory compliance with Package travel regulations, ABTA, ATOL, and other organisations such as our Antarctic operations trade body IAATO
  • IT security management – cyber risk; prevention of hacking and data theft
  • Some elements of financial risk protection – anti money laundering, anti-fraud

Budget responsibility

  • Company general & administrative budget setting and management

Training

  • Deliver meaningful training to staff to implement improvements where identified and enhance company wide skillsets

Legal

  • Contract review (with support from legal partners)
  • NDA and contract management
  • Managing companies house returns

Essential Experience

  • Experience in reading and reviewing contracts
  • Data analysis
  • KPI review
  • Commercial negotiation
  • Project management experience

 

Desirable Experience

  • Interest in adventure, travel, or luxury - or background of working with high net worth individuals
  • Change management
  • Languages -  Mandarin
  • Experience in regulatory compliance with package travel regulations, ABTA, ATOL - Or potentially other areas of compliance
  • IT security management – cyber risk; prevention of hacking and data theft
  • Experience in achieving efficiencies, cost management, post-merger integration

 

Qualifications

  • Degree or equivalent
