I don't think anyone berated him for having used an inheritance to buy his first home. I don't know anyone who has bought in their 30s in the last ten years that didn't have some kind of help 

I think he got berated for constantly whinging about money and the massive unfairness of life to young people (including himself) whilst being a bazza with a central London flat bought by a significant inheritance.
