Anyone had any problems with fraud in their Microsoft account?
I only have an account so I can get certain Office products but recently someone hacked my account and ordered to X Box subscriptions at my expense. I spent a while getting through to Microsoft on the phone and someone talked me through claiming a refund only to get an e-mail saying I don't qualify for a refund with no explanation. They haven't answered my request for an explanation which also included an offer to publicise their shoddy approach to fraud.
Think it's time to send it all to the Saturday Times trouble shooter to see how she gets on.

Microsoft have all the empathetic customer service and determination to resolve issues that you expect from an arrogant septic monopoly.
I had a small issue with them a few months back and the "Customer Service" person couldn't have been clearer that it was my problem, that Microsoft didn't care and I could sort it out.

Only time I had any issue was when my Xbox account got hacked and someone used my embedded visa to order a load of stuff. A few hundred quid but MS fixed it in a couple of days.

Never had a problem with them but you have just prompted me to check my account which is something I rarely do. Thankfully no irreguarlities.

See Tec I've had the same and after several conversations have been told I'm not entitled to a refund and should cancel my card and take it up with my bank. Given that my card hasn't been used for any other purchases it's clearly a breach of their security.

If it was a credit card, then just section 75 it, if a debit card try to organise a chargeback. Crap reaction from Microsoft though.

It's a debit card and don't want to cut it up and wait for a replacement. I'll just e-mail a journalist or two to take it up on my behalf.

I suspect they have more interesting stories to go for. Maybe watchdog or Martin Lewis?

There's a lady in the Saturday Times who very much likes stories like this of people being done over by big corporations.
