Prof Sir John Curtice, the BBC’s election specialist, told the Today programme within the last hour that the Conservatives were “basically losing half the seats they’re trying to defend”. He said if that continued, they could end up losing around 500 seats. He said the party seemed to be on course for “one of the worst, if not the worst Conservative performance in local government elections for the last 40 years”.
Odd that of the seats the tories have lost labour have only picked up circa half of them, so while defintely a bad night for the tories, is it an excellent night for the labour crew? |Probably

Oxford to be a embarrasment of poor performance for Labour, due to local issues and Palestine. Not quite an Uxbridge moment, but not far off.
