THIS IS A REAL THING SHE WILL DO!!
The Growth Commission, the body set up by the former prime minister, is set to release a report one week before chancellor Jeremy Hunt delivers his autumn statement on November 22.
It is being called the “Growth Budget” and is expected to propose policy on a range of areas, including, corporation tax, income tax and national insurance.
I CAN’T WAIT!!

I think what this will do is really energise the base without giving the opposition any kind of stick to beat the conservatives with, and not make the party look at all divided as voters just hate that kind of thing.
genius liz. like her premiership

It could be an annual thing, like Ed Balls day. But with less substance.

Sounds good to me. The membership certainly would like to hear more from her.

SOUNDS GOOD TO ME TOO!!
I BET THEY WOULD: AFTER ALL, THEY ARE THE KIND OF PEOPLE WHO VOTED FOR HER TO BE THE ACTUAL PRIME MINISTER OF GREAT BRITAIN WHICH SHE ACTUALLY WAS!!

I miss Liz, in a way. At least her being PM was very funny. Remember when she showed up in Parliament absolutely out her mind on amphetamines and had to sit beside Hunt whilst he apologised to the country for her on national TV, and methodically unpicked everything she'd ever worked for?

that pic is basically a hostage situation

Remember when Teresa Maybot had endless votes on different permuatations of brexit and lost every one of them due to hardline brexiters and hopelessly optimistic remainers overwhelming the sensible centre from opposite sides? I thought that would be the weirdest time in parliament in my lifetime.
Then Liz Truss said "hold my beer".

yeah, they probably will
on a more serious note, it will probably have a lot of very nice and sensible things in it, granted they will be the sort of things you can only do if the country is starting from year 0, has no legacy systems to work under and no existing commitments under contracts, treaties and manifestos, not to mention the additional burdens placed on the state and international trade by recent decisions (which to be fair la Truss did oppose)

Surely though the members are entitled to hear from candidates and chose our own leader?

Yes as long as you are running it past "the electorate". Last time the Tories had someone put through a meaningful election was 2015.
Why doesn't she call it the Office for Understanding Fiscal Uselessness (Classic Kwarteng) of OfUfook for short?

It will be a convenient occasion on which to arrest her. And her chang-ridden chancellor too. Lock them up.

OH GOSH ARE WE GOING TO LET THE TORY PARTY MEMBERSHIP LISTEN TO BOTH BUDGETS AND CHOOSE THE ONE THEY LIKE?!?
TRUSTING THEIR JUDGEMENT SOUNDS LIKE A VERY GOOD IDEA!!
