How many people will particularly notice/ be troubled when you die?

For me it is 5 but when my parents die it will be 3. I think at least one of those will predecease me.

I can see why people want to have children to avoid this weird feeling (but I also think they might be naive about how troubled their kids will be).

I know you'll say who cares you'll be dead but it's weird, no? The superficiality of connections in life.

Enjoying this life affirming summery morning then?

I went for a walk by the river first thing and saw a kingfisher.  The. A convoy of cool old steam vehicles cane past.

😊

Circular innit

The number of people  (who’ll care) is largely based on your own efforts in later life, no?

Older peps are sadly unreliable in this way

No, it isn't. People only tend to care about what they care about. Sure you can make things worse for yourself by being terrible company but plenty of people who are terrible company still have lots of social support.

I'd say my family (hopefully at that point many grandkids)

My friends

The rof community

All those I have positively influenced in their careers and businesses

I only care about the top 2 but the second 2 probably equal a thousand people

My friends more than my family.  I'm not particularly close to any of my nephews and nieces or cousins.  Of my 7 siblings, I think perhaps 2 of them will give a shyte.

I have some really close friends though and they often drop everything to see me whenever I visit Limerick so I'd imagine they'd make the same effort to make sure I get a good send off.

A lot more than I thought but that's probably to do with the fact that I almost carked it pre 50. I think if I'd actually stayed dead some people would have thought "meh, why bother". I dunno.
