RollOnFriday can reveal that directors and shareholders of a PR agency used by a number of law firms are, errr, senior partners at Halliwells.

twentyfour7 is the agency which handles all Halliwells' press enquiries, and claims on its website to act for "a range of law firms". The agency told RollOnFriday that it didn't want to name these clients, but said that they were all aware of Halliwells' involvement.

The most recent annual return names Ian Alexander Craig as a director and the holder of 14% of the company's shares. Could this be the same Alec Craig who is Halliwells' Senior Partner? Ian Dafydd Austin is also listed as a director and holds 8.2% of the shares. He's Halliwells' Executive Chairman. And Stephen Hills, the firm's Head of Employment, is recorded as owning 2.3% of the shares.

    A Dafydd yesterday

A spokeswoman for the Law Society told RollOnFriday the agency's structure would not breach any rules as long as adequate confidentiality agreements were in place. So given that there's no suggestion of anything untoward, why did twentyfour7 send RollOnFriday a letter yesterday threatening a pre-publication injunction?

Answers on a postcard, marked "top secret", to twentyfour7 c/o Halliwells please.
