CHARLES RUSSELL TO PUSH TWO TONNE LIFEBOAT THROUGH STREETS OF LONDON TO RAISE MONEY FOR THE RNLI

One two tonne lifeboat. Nine miles of London streets. Eight courageous volunteers. One aim....to raise as much money as possible to help fund a new lifeboat on the Thames for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI). Will they succeed? You can help decide.

On Saturday 9 October 2010 an eight man Charles Russell team will endeavour to push a two tonne lifeboat from the RNLI's Tower Lifeboat Station to Chiswick Lifeboat Station to raise funds for a new lifeboat on the Thames for the charity.  The "Boat Push", as it has been affectionately named, will cover some nine miles of London streets and the team are hoping for plenty of green lights and downward slopes in their favour!

The CR team is taking part in the RNLI's exciting and innovative Brawn Lifeboat Challenge, which involves 10 teams competing against one another to raise as much money as possible for a new RNLI lifeboat for London. The RNLI is a client of Charles Russell and the challenge is headed by Ross Brawn, the Team Principal of another client - the MERCEDES GP PETRONAS Formula One Team. The CR team is hoping that this quirky and daring feat will bring in plenty of sponsorship as well as highlighting the achievements and importance of the RNLI here in London.

Mike Scott, Head of the Charles Russell team and Deputy Senior Partner commented, "The Charles Russell team thought that the most fitting way to help raise funds and awareness for the fantastic work that the RNLI does day in, day out,    would be to roll up our sleeves and push a lifeboat through the streets of London. As it has never been done before, we hope the enormity of the challenge will encourage generous donations!"
