Unexpected excitement broke out at Norton Rose this week, as a snake was spotted in its London headquarters.

The animal was reported by a cleaning lady in the early hours of the morning on 12th May. Presumably it was feasting on the mice that currently seem to have the run of City law firms...

The firm said that pest control experts had been brought in, all security staff were aware of the situation and "we continue to be vigilant". But there had been no further sightings for the last two weeks.

A spokesman wouldn't comment on whether the cleaning lady had been spending too long breathing in the fumes from her Toilet Duck.
