Good luck to Jonathan Scott of Ashurst, New South Wales who will be running the 2010 Athens marathon tomorrow, braving hills, Mediterranean heat and potential civil unrest.

It's all in aid of a number of children's charities. The Marathon of Marathons is an initiative organised by Campbell Lutyens (on the 2,500th anniversary of the battle of Marathon) with the goal being to raise €2.5 million. Ten outstanding charities (including UNICEF) will be the beneficiaries, each of them dedicated to reducing the suffering of children around the world.

If you would like to donate, please browse on over to this page which allows you to make a secure donation. By donating, you'll be supporting a very worthwhile cause, and you can rest happy in the knowledge that it's Jonathan who will be receiving permanent lung damage from the Athens smog. And not you.

Please give as much or as little as you can afford. All costs are being taken care of by the runners themselves - so every cent, pound and euro raised will make a difference to a child's life somewhere.

Thank you very much for your support.
