Throughout our young life we have regularly found ourselves around the storied fields of Primrose Hill. From drinking 20/20 on the grassy knoll as a teen to trotting around the antique furniture shops on a Sunday afternoon being dragged round by the wife. In short, P.Hill is a strangely important piece of our existence (as is RoF Towers). So, we thought we should do our best to include a few hot spots from the area (or even Camden as we're friends with a number of people that are adamant that Camden High Street is 'near enough to Primrose Hill' for their flat to be called a 'Primrose Hill' flat).

Camden Lock - an integral part of Primrose Hill

However, regardless of location, we would happily recommend The Engineer to any of our dear readers (unless it was south of the river in which case we're unlikely to enjoy it because we'd be rushing through our meal too quickly). It is one of our favourite pubs - not least because it's one of the few pubs that's open for breakfast (for food, not for drowning AV sorrows). Actually, not just that, but the breakfast on offer is more than just your standard offering - it includes things like sweetcorn fritters, buttermilk pancakes with honeycomb butter (bananas and bacon optional). From the breakfast alone you can tell that there's something special about the place - it does the ordinary but just that little bit better than you'd expect.

If breakfast is not your thing (and it should be - it's the healthy balanced start to your day that every growing lawyer needs), then be sure to check out the lunch/dinner/Sunday lunch for which it is fabled amongst the P.Hill clans. Expect the place to be booked out on Sundays especially - not just with such local celebs like Jamie Theakston but also with normal people like us. If it is booked out, fret not - the char-grilled rib of beef with peppercorn sauce and chips is worth holding off for lunch or dinner (even when priced £25). We're also partial to the excellent scotch eggs and pork pies for starters....

All of it - whatever you choose - is seasonally sourced from reputable and local suppliers (and helpfully listed in full for your verification). In short, you will be eating fine food whatever time of year you Engineer.
