Hi all,

I am looking for some practical advice. I am a french trainee lawyer due to qualify in October 2011. I obtained a GDL with distinction last year. I would like to qualify as solicitor in the UK and I am looking for the best route to do it.
Are there any people in a similar situation, qualified in France and the UK? If so, would love to hear about you?

I have qualified recently all you do is apply to the Solicitors Regulation Authority for a certificate of eligibility and this will set out what examinations you may need to take..... which may be very few depending on your qualifications. You can apply to the SRA via QLTS Form 1 subject to a fee... hope this helps...
As far as I know there is no requirement to do a training contract under the QLTS as opposed to the QLTT let me know if you have heard differently?
