Clyde & Co has confirmed that two senior associates have been shown the door.

Both are based in the firm's Manchester office, in the Regulatory / Safety, Health and Environment office. A spokeswoman said that  "the firm had to restructure our Regulatory/SHE team in Manchester to reflect business levels and this is currently the full extent of any redundancy action".

    Clyde & Co, yesterday

Note the word "currently" - how many law firms would go through a redundancy exercise with a view to eradicating just two jobs? Then again, maybe Clydes just wanted to do this by the book, and went down a more honourable path than just managing out the unfortunate lawyers.
