I felt sorry for Senator Mitch McConnell seeing him have a control-alt-delete moment last week. He just froze mid press conference and there was an awkward 20 seconds.

I thought it was very decent of those around him to show respect and ask if he had anything he wanted to add before shuffling him away. I also gather that he returned a moment later and was fine but that seemed unnecessary. If you cannot have a senior moment aged 81 then when?

I loved the moment in the Ashes when the players came out in each other's shirts to acknowledge the confusion often suffered by those with Alzheimer's. We need to show more sympathy for what happens to old bodies and minds. There was a time not long ago that we would marvel that someone aged over 80 had made it that far. We would not expect them to be working.

I hope McConnell is ok. People should not work on into their 80s like this. I respect the instinct towards public service but this is crazy.

Imagine the frothing glee of risky/Barry/iamthesucker if it had been Biden.

My point remains that if it had been Biden it would have prompted multi-tuns of delighted squeals from the usual suspects.

heh. imagine if that was so and his silence had ended at the point at which that other chap said "is there anything further you want to say Senator" and he had responded "yes, actually. Smell that one. Wooh. I love the smell of napalm in the morning"

McConnell is one of the most shameless pieces of shit in the senate. His theft of the supreme Court seats was egregious and his failure to impeach trump at the 2nd time is inexcusable.

The only saving grace is he's not Trump, or Boebert etc but he's enabled them and betrayed America by suckling at the teat of these putin funded scumbags.

If American democracy falls he will have played a big role.
