I finished The Crown Season 4

It was entertaining enough, but personally,   the Charles and Diana bits were dire. the Thatcher bits bad

I've watched episode 2. It was actually worse than episode 1.

Doesn't help that they have had to admit large parts of it were made up.

On ep 9.

Have enjoyed it but it is definitely soapier than previous seasons

Kept shouting 'shut the fuck up, woman' when Thatch was windbagging on at the Queen

unfortunately once you take out episodes centring on C&D and Thatcher, not much left.  There were a couple of decent episodes though.

Apparently Anderson was not trying to be much like Thatcher, which sounds slightly odd why the fuck not?

surprised they didn't do the Brighton bombing tbh

Just finished watching it. Agree with Abbeywell enjoyable enough but the weakest of the four series by a long way. When the press secretaries meet in the station was stupid. Also a lot of errors. I know its small but thatcher was in Paris when she got the results of the leadership ballot. Got very soapy.  I actually liked the last series.

Oh and bet fergie watched it and i bet is so pissed off, her character doesn’t even speak.

honestly I think s4 is the best yet

much better than s3 or s2

(I have a soft spot for s1 it’s my favourite)

Agree with most. Too soap-like.

Best bit of whole series was flashback to 1947 and seeing Claire foy again as the young Elizabeth. They should just have waited for her to get older before making seasons 3 onwards.

I thought the most touching bit was the bowes-lyon sisters in the hospitals and the three others of that family. Never knew of them. I know of Prince John, but not them.

I think there is an issue that most of know the political events so have our own memories.  I think Gillian Anderson is very good actress but I thought her Maggie was one dimensional.

I think the next series is the last and thinking about although they have the big event of Di's death, I strain to think how they can stretch it to 10 episodes. Windsor burning down? Blair coming to power?

I was cheering at the Thatcher bits standing up to her maj obv.

Worst to the wise, don't watch boring trash TV. Outside work, do things which are fun and active. Live your best life, don't get bogged down with negativity. Wear sunscreen and buy a nice watch.

Today I have been 24/7 responsive, managed on very little sleep, got in a workout, ran 3 miles, bossed people on the internet, bought things online and watched Spectre whilst wearing the exact same watch Bond does in the movie.

When the watch exploded I gasped "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!" and clenched mine tightly. I still think he didn't need to explode it. He could have just not have gotten knocked out in the first place or gotten the girl to hit the machine to open up the torture chair to release him.

I will watch this, but do i need to watch it in series order?

I was watching an interview with Olivia Colman and she said that it was hard to learn the weird royal way of speaking, and that, for example, 'yes' is actually pronounced 'ears'.

I have decided to start doing this.

Coleman never quite captured the queen in the way Foy did imo, or perhaps Foy had an easier job as we mostly don’t remember the queen as she was when she was young

well quite, much harder for the actors in the later series

although they were much more likeable in the early days too

I think a problem with the later series is that they have made everyone so dislikeable it is hard to carry on caring - Charles and  Diana in particular.

Can I just give a solid “heh” to biggie’s overnight postings?

' very little sleep'

Not a playa then

Many on here would go through an all nighter in the Commons, and still be fresh on their feet before the judge first thing the next day

No one cares.
