Looks like the B word will overshadow Alex Thomson winning the Open 60 Class in the Route du Rhum race from France to Guadeloupe. It will probably also overshadow the fact that there are two Brits in the top ten of the Open 40 Class. Been years since we were this good at solo offshore racing.

As if sailing news would have got top billing either way!
Weather looks good for tomorrow, think we'll take the dinghy out. It might be a bit punchy...

True but it will now get even less billing.
I'm done for the winter apart from the old crew Christmas dinner in a couple of weeks' time.

We are doing the winter series but have had sessions cancelled due to too much breeze, or not enough or simply because we have had duties to do. Hilariously, we aren't last in the fleet overall because of the duties.

We have a new boat to play with come the spring which should be fun as it has lots of gizmos we've not had before and we're not sure how they work...

Sounds yachty. What have you got?

A JPK10.10. Weighs nothing but really quite beamy with twin rudders and apparently capable of 15 knots downwind. Should be fun but scary until we get used to it.
Outrageous that Alex Thomson has been given a 24 hour time penalty for using his engine briefly after running aground. Can't see that he even remotely derived that much advantage on the basis he might have floated free on the next tide.
