A law firm has responded to a student's job application, just five years too late.
Back in 2008 Blake Cassels & Graydon LLP received an application from a fresh-faced law student for a position in its Toronto office. On Tuesday the firm's HR department got in touch to let them know that everything was proceeding smoothly:
The candidate has since replied that unfortunately she's no longer looking for a placement. In fact, in the intervening years she's become a senior associate at another firm and moved continent.
RollOnFriday was leaving instructions for its robot employees of the future to publish Blakes' response when a spokeswoman said "What happened this week was a computer error and we have sent an acknowledgement and apology to all of the recipients. We are investigating the source of the error".

I hadn't ever applied to them. They must have known I already had a training contract as the address said "trainee solicitor".
