No wonder 'Mericans are fatter than a lot of other nations, apparently a thanksgiving meal can easily amount to 4,500 calories, and all that a month before they do it again for Xmas.
Friend of mine is from middle America and invited me to a thanksgiving dinner and the amount of sugar was scary. Everyone had to make a dish and I opted for candied carrots and read the recipe three times to check the volume of sugar I was being told to add to carrots which are already quite sweet.

Christmas is less of a bit deal.
That's why my American friends host us for Thanksgiving and then we host them a few weeks later for Brit-mas.
