Senior Associate Knowledge Lawyer - Global Financial Investors

The Financial Investors Group offers clients a broad range of experience and capabilities, which extends across fund structuring and formation, to financing and deal execution, restructuring and disputes, as well as regulatory, ESG, antitrust, tax, technology and employment matters.

Financial Investors is our fastest growing client segment and forms a critical part of the firm's global business strategy.

This is an exciting new role that has been created to support Partners and lawyers track legal and market developments impacting our financial investor clients, develop tailored thought leadership materials for FI clients to support revenue generation activities, and ensure information and knowledge is shared across the global practice to improve client service delivery levels.

Who you will work with

You will work closely with the FI Leadership Group and our Global Heads of Client & Market Development (CMD) and Brand, Communications and Marketing (BCM) for FI. 

You will also be part of our global knowledge network "KETL" which encompasses our Knowledge, Expertise and Thought Leadership activities.

What you will be responsible for

You will be responsible for collating market intelligence, legal and regulatory updates from our regional KETL lawyers and the FI Leadership Group, to identify hot topics and macroeconomic developments impacting our FI clients. This will encompass a broad range of asset classes and private capital activities including fund formation, investments, financing, tax, employment and regulatory developments.

Working in conjunction with our CMD and BCM teams, you will create legal content in the form of briefings, training presentations and other thought leadership materials to be used to support client development and revenue generation activities.

Your role will play an important part by enabling the FI group to maintain "up-to-the-minute private capital expertise" for the Firm's clients and ensuring our collective experience which is at the cutting edge of client work and legal developments is captured and utilised for the benefit of all across the FI group.

What you will do

From time to time your remit will extend to:  

  • Tracking and analysing forthcoming private capital legal, regulatory and compliance related developments in order to brief lawyers and Partners on their impact. This may include preparing briefings or client presentation materials for the client team to use.
  • Supporting production of bespoke legal and regulatory developments briefings/updates for key clients and global thought leadership campaigns.
  • Working with the Brand and Communication, and Client and Market Development team on the preparation of pitch mandates, deal teasers and marketing publications where the mandate requires input on private capital legal knowledge. 
  • Assisting in the preparation and delivery of training programmes on private capital legislation issues, including best practice and ongoing legal and regulatory obligations.
  • Working with the Firm's thought leadership board on firm wide campaigns and macroeconomic developments to ensure materials and knowledge insights are tailored for an FI client audience.

 

Qualifications

 

Your career experience so far

You will be a senior lawyer with significant experience advising companies in the private capital market. You will have an excellent academic background.  You will have strong drafting skills, good attention to detail, strong organisational skills and be proactive and committed to providing a first class service to our lawyers and clients.

You should also have strong communication and analytical skills along with a high level of commercial awareness. Your expertise will extend to legislative frameworks and developments for private capital related law, with a strong track record of keeping abreast of legal implications in this fast-evolving space.

This role follows our 'balanced' hybrid working approach and as long as business needs allow, you will be supported to work in a hybrid way with the expectation of working from the office for a minimum of 50% of your time.
