weighing yourself

I have never understood all the chat around best way to do this. some say only weigh  yourself once a week etc, weight at the same time blag blah blah

surely the solution to best track things is:

1. Decide which way you are going i.e. losing or gaining

2. Then weigh yourself all the time, any time of day, and keep a note of the lowest/highest weight each time you achieve it

in other words you are aiming to get the lowest reading possible if you are trying to lose weight so just keep weighing and keep track of each time you get a lower reading. For gaining vice versa

why would you stick to the same time of day, you weight and daily routine will vary so that will not give an accurate measurement of progress.

Just constantly weight yourself. if you spend all week weighing yourself and the best measurement you get is 80.5kg and next week do the same and the best result you achieve is 80.0kg then you are going in the right direction.

I weigh all of my food and take a note.

I also weigh all of my poo and take a note.

Have done for years.

Nothing to do with any sort of dietary programme, I just need a hobby.

Strutter - me too!

What is the best you've managed on a poo. I did a 2.5kg a couple of years ago after I broke up with the ex. It was a silver lining that came just when I needed it.

SDYSS you arent factoring in the simultaneous evacuation of the badder.  a man can wake up and have to empty the bladder in the manner of frank drebben at the queen's banquet.  wee weighs significantly more than water because of all the phosphates and stuff.  try weighing a glass of water and the same glass full of wee if u dont believe me.

I vary about half a stone between getting up and going to bed and also know that if I want to think I'm getting lighter I should weigh myself after a night out before I've eaten the next day as the dehydration and not eating the night before can knock off another half a stone.

First thing in the morning after you've been to the loo. Standard.

Whilst I accept the "daily routine changes" argument, the first thing in the morning thing doesn't.
