The last 6 years have been for 80% of the time, the worst of my life
One crisis after another
-sh1t job and stress/breakdown
-parental breakdown during mum near fatal illness, mum sent to care home , family polarised /broken down beyond repair with basically every interpersonal relationship damaged
-covid/lockdown (shared with the world I know and ironically it ended up ameloriating the first two)
-sh1t job and stress/breakdown II following takeover of current job
All with general existential dread building up in the background knowing I'm wasting what should be prime years with this sh1t

I was talking to Mr Ash about this today.
Considering how the last 10 years have turned out, I'm pretty optimistic for the next 40 - on a personal level.

40 more years looks OK. It's the 10 after that (if I have to endure them) that look a bit pants.

I'm so confused.
I thought this was the run down to death...

@LG - that sounds cr@p. Genuinely hope that your thinking (including the existential dread) will lead to a reset and some new oportunities.

Surely Labour will get their act together at some point before then and kick out the Tories?

Worrying about politics and (often media exaggerated) global crises seems like priveliged worry to me, almost always
I will never ever expect a politician or change of government to change my life or improve anything
The amount of angst exuded over these things which are 99.9% out of our hands on here, is a constant source of bafflement to me

I remember when I couldn't bear to travel on the Tube because the air in every carriage was opaque with cigarette smoke.
