Toxic school

I thought this was going to be about literal toxicity.

There is actually an ongoing problem with asbestos in the public sector education estate - a lot of british schools were built or rebuilt in the first thirty years postwar, often to standard designs (CLASP etc - basically what every modern comprehensive school looked like until about 20yrs ago) and often involving asbestos.

Teaching has the highest incidence of mesothelioma of any white collar job in the U.K.

Basically the better the school the more the teachers and pupils are likely to moan about it. it is like those university satisfaction studies - if the students are as idle as sin and drinking all day they love it (but the university tends not to be a good one).
