Time to watch my favourite series

Last Man on Earth

if you haven’t watched all of it then it’s time now to do so. First, it’s a combo of laugh out loud funny and a little bit alarming. Second, it’s about life after the worldwide virus that wiped out all but one person and what happened next (spoiler avoidance please everyone).

the final season was cancelled, just after a very big breakthrough in the plot but I wonder if they will have the nerve to recommission now and finish it the way the writer and lead actor said it should end.

I really enjoyed this, to the extent that I actually purchased the second series as I don't think it was on a streaming service at the time.

I enjoyed it less as time went on however so was not entirely bummed that there was not another series.

Was listening to a podcast recently about how mobile game downloads for games involving zombies/viruses have massively spiked since the beginning of the year.  Not sure staring at your iphone is ideal prep tbh.

It wasn’t cancelled mid story. It was cancelled just before a twist allowing a new story, but there is an ‘end’ to what they did make.

I will convince you with some minor items from the first season the start of which is all about what a fella would do in this situation.

he decides to drink himself to death but gets bored of opening bottles so he just fills a paddling pool with tequila, salt round the side and climbs in with a  snorkel.

there is no more running water or sewage system so he cuts a hole in a diving board in the pool and uses this as a long drop shitter.

Later in the series he abducts a shop window mannequin and builds a room called a masturbatorium.

My written advocacy skills are seldom given the respect they deserve

there is much better stuff but if I summarise it I will spoil some early plot developments

Well it isn't.  I think if you turn the very nicely written scripts and annoying characters into a Wikipedia synopsis then all is lost and I am not surprised it sounds shit.

You hate and love the lead in it, from the off. he also wrote it.  Will Forte.

Kirsten Schaal (flight of the conchords' downstairs stalker) is a main character in it and it is a very funnily written and acted character.

you gotta change your name to zombiewang or zombienonce.

Nelson was small but so were a lot of people in those days.  Going back a bit, when you look at the clothes and shoes in the Mary Rose exhibition you are struck by the child-size stuff. Also, if you go to the armoury exhibition in the Tower of London, Henry VIII's armour shows a well nourished midriff but he is very short.  Not the huge beast in the Holbein portraits.   Other armour suits of that time are the sort of thing one might fit on a 12 year old male these days but only those for whom puberty is some way off.

it’s about life after the worldwide virus that wiped out all but one person and what happened next

Is this fictional? Or a documentary about the world at the end of 2020 post-Covid 19?
