Rather difficult because the route has been mapped put and there's always the worry that some future government might re-start it. As one farmer said, there's a big felt tip line through my land which will show up forever on searches
Can starmer not say "I will be looking into the feasibility of legislating to compulsorily repurchase these lands" to make them unsellable? I suppose that would require him actually doing something.
