Themes you detect in RoF threads these days
  • OMG I am getting old and haven't made enough money not angst about gidges, school fees and keeping up appearances.
  • A "friend" is a multimillionaire self made entrepreneur. No I'm not sure he remembers me.
  • I resent anyone who has done better than me, especially anyone who started out in law.
  • My working class roots and now an impediment to my life chances because people notice my unmanageable anger.
  • We bought a wreck and did it up because that's all we could afford. We spend our time saying what a great idea it was. We are not convinced.
  • I hate anyone who takes a risk which works out because I never did.
  • I'm actually pretty average but because I am trapped in a grinding London job I like to think this proves I'm an over achiever. I certainly tell people that.
  • Expats are annoying. How come they get laid/paid so much?

A few to add

  • Why someone failed to get laid or promoted in London so had to go to the desert and buy a load of hookers which they now refer to as being 'lithe' or something equally horrific
  • What EVs someone has bought despite them then saying they haven't bought any
  • Why labour will get a 600 seat majjy t
  • Why football is great

Luckily I know a few self-made millionaires who definitely remember me and one is hopefully on their way to also making me millions.

I am also very happily an under achiever compared to may of my peers.

Definitely some grains of truth in the OP. The fourth bullet point basically summarises Davos’s posting history over the last three years.

Or at least 50% of Davos’s posts when he’s in the “poor me I’m working class” mode. The other 50% of the time he is in the “look at me I’m definitely loaded” mode.

I like this new reductionist Hugey who, rather than. trying to provoke envious pique by pretending to massive accomplishment, just tells people they should be ashamed nvious and piqued. And when that doesn’t work just tells them they are envious and piqued.

I’m interested in the ridicule of this claim.

I’ve just googled “2021 2000m RowErg Rankings” and a 6:30 result puts one somewhere in the 350s.

That’s hardly top 10 in the world.

In proper competition, erg properly set up and verified rather than "honest gov, I pulled this"

Good to see Barry still obsessed with me

Guess I've pwned him so much I have inprinted on his brain

So HG is the 7.5th best rower in the world

Amazing stuff. Real kudos to you

Actually if you look at what poor little hyoobert claimed it was that he was doing 6 minutes 30  ‘back in the day’.

Let’s assume he means when he was in his late 20s.

A quick check of the winner of the 1993 lightweight men’s 2000m seems to give a time of 7 minutes 5 seconds.  So in fact our very own desert incel was best in the world by an unimaginable margin, but somehow neglected to enter the competition.

Now isn’t that funny?

I distinctly recall you being 5 foot 9 when it suited you for some other purpose to be 60 something kilos.

Which also happened to be bang in the middle for BMI.

i love that unk always pretends 2 4get that he circul7d topless photos of himself, and a thorough poll confirmed they didn’t make bank* 4 ne fer, let alone fette

it was not the bod of a rower

*of the vvank variety

Because he's:

Over 50

Over weight

Drinks too much

Drives imaginary EVs too much

And we'd hear about a desert based paralegal absolutely smashing the world of rowing on legal bases gossip websites like ROF and legal cheek (I haven't checked but don't recall any such articles)

Tbf Rof and Legal Week didn't exist "back in the day" when a now 50 something would have been in his physical prime.  1990s models Concept 2s were pretty different from their modern equivalents too.
