Theft conundrum

Seem to have had some headphones nicked from a bus yesterday and showing up on Find My as at Swan Road in West Drayton. Is it worth a 1 hour round trip just to get an earful from some w**ker at best? Trouble is it is semi-detached so a fair chance I pick the wrong house first.

to OP, no.

options

go there and he says oh yeah here are your headphones, soz (likelihood zero)

go there and person comes to door and says no idea what you are talking about (likelihood high) and what do you do, barge in shouting I AM A SOLICITOR YOU KNOW?

go there and person comes to door and maybe he has them / maybe not but anyhoo he gives you a Glasgow kiss or an introduction to his knife collection for your troubles. (ikelihood quite possible) And still no 'phones.

go there and you have the wrong door or the person in question isn't there./doesn't answer (likelihood almost guaranteed)

in each case you've wasted your time and in some you've risked trouble

you're getting some new headphones is where we are going with this

Airpods Pro - thanks for the reassurance from wiser heads. Only comfort was I activated their "lost" function, whereupon they went from somewhere in the house to half way down the garden.

Last pair of those I buy. One of the previous set still resides in a service void in our house from when I was putting in our MVHR. Bounced twice, trickled on the edge like that Tiger Woods putt at the 16th at Augusta, then fell in. Lost another cycling across London Bridge (yes yes stupid I know) - cycled over by 4 people before I got it back.

Are you sure they were not stolen but dropped somewhere and somebody found them who may well give them back if you prove they are yours?   I gave up on airpods as I was always losing them....

I borrowed some for the Great South Run in the autumn and will never wear them again. Lost count of the number of times they fell out and I had to break my running rhythm to pick one or other up.

btw, I lost a phone once. It showed it was in a McDonalds. I rode my bike to that location and as I arrived it started to move from that Maccys around the roundabout and then across town. I gave chase on the motorbike. I was convinced I was following a thief. It went from there to a housing estate and stop started then set off in the opposite direction without stopping. Then it stopped at a waste recycling centre.  I was following a bin lorry.
