Wasn't the 2030 target always going to be dropped anyway on the basis that it's completely unrealistic?
Without claiming to be any kind of "baller," I own an EV. Once you're out of range of your home charger, it is a total sh*tshow. For a start, there should be a law passed immediately saying that chargers must accept card payment and cannot require some cr@ppy app which requires you to enter your life history when you just want to get a quick charge. Even then, chargers are frequently broken/ unreliable, even once you've got the hang of the particular (temperamental) sequence of plugging/ using app etc etc that they want. Current infrastructure is totally inadequate for the number of EVs on the road at the moment, let alone if a load more people made the switch.

Does anyone know how ICE cars “evolved”? Were petrol stations using different nozzles at any time? When did standardisation occur and why?
Mrs C owns an EV and we don’t take on long trips for just the reasons above. It’s too much hassle and there’s no integration.
