Spudalike in Administration

Another great retailer gone under.

I never understood how they survived at all.  If you want a take away you want something fatty and tasty.   If you want a baked potato you simply put one in the oven.

Literally nobody else in the world can replicate the wonder of the baked potato made by the snack van parked outside Binns in Middlesbrough in the 90s.  I can still smell it if I close my eyes.  There's a difference between a bought and made jacket spud - they take longer over them.

I'm having a baked spud for my lunch now.

Hang on. Spudulike was real? I thought it was a joke - a parody fast food chain. You’ll be telling me Chuck-e-Cheese exists, next.

I disagree regarding the merits of baked potatoes as a takeaway food. They’re wonderfully packaged and versatile, like a different lunch each day with different toppings. The second post on this thread may be the wrongest thing I’ve ever read on the internet, in fact. And I follow Katie Hopkins on twitter.

Last time I worked in The Provinces, my office was near a place that did an amazing coronation chicken - topped baked spud. It was my go-to luncheon at least twice a week.

the idea that “baked potato” has some kind of authenticity that “jacket potato” doesn’t is laughing gas stuff.

And Guy Crouchback, you are the most consistently wrong individual on the internet.
