Scottish rugby arrogance

You have to say, this is either going to come back to bite them mightily hard or they are showing some brilliant confidence

Arrogance seems a bit harsh. Self-belief and confidence are what’s needed and they seem to have those in abundance certainly (whether it’s justified or not we will see).

"The full-back went further. What about Ireland's 16 victories in a row? "They've been on a good run of form recently, but we'll end that on Saturday." You will end it on Saturday, he was asked. Kinghorn just nodded. No more words necessary."

A reminder that when Eddie Jones says that, the Scots criticise him for arrogance

So it's the same

Personally I don't mind arrogance. I am arrogant. Back it up though. That's the rule. Back it up

Sport is better for these types of things and that is partly because they can backfire and it's absolute banter

Obvious troll is obvious.

Noone has ever called anyone arrogant for saying they will win a game of rugby.

Scotland will most likely lose today but if they don't believe they should win, what's the point in turning up?

Arrogance is all the other stuff - the way you carry yourself, the way you talk about the opposition, the way you behave afterwards win or lose.

The idea that Kinghorn has been arrogant here is for the birds and the trolls. He has nothing but respect for Ireland.

Scots had all the arrogance and didn't fire a shot until the game was done

Their fans should be furious

All this talk

You have to back it up

"Oh oh davos we beat England. we are once in a generation team"

You went home in groups and England and Wales and Ireland go onto QFs

Absolutely failed

Obvious troll is obvious.

What a wonderful side this Ireland side is. We are privileged to witness it. In the running for the best side of all time. I thought Scotland played pretty well, I'm proud of of them.

Ps Davos you are a total clown.

Oh shush Davos you silly boy. Great Irish performance. Scotland played OK but never looked like really troubling them. Next weekend is when this Ireland team prove if they are really one of the all time great teams. If they can send the AB’s out they have a claim to being up there.

They are an immensely efficient and well-drilled team. That goes with the territory for the AB’s.

Should be a cracker.

If they played France, with Dupont, in the final I think however they would lose by 10.

I thought Ireland were fantastic for an hour.  Lots of mixed play and any team will be worries that they have grunt and pace.  They were a little loose on the last quarter and someone like the ABs play the full 80 and aren't afraid of a deficit like many.  It's a match worthy of a semi or final never mind a quarter. A lesser WC without Dupont in the knock out stages.

Scotland poor first half.  Again.  A positive should be a raft of retirements and a new coaching set up.  Should be.....  And, hopefully, a reworking of the coaching through Edinburgh and Glasgow into the national team with co-ordinated coaching.  Last seen when Gregor was at Glasgow.

Davos, old stick.  Have a go at seeing positives.  It's all a touch pov spec junkyard dog.

The idea that a new coaching setup is suddenly going to make a huge difference... we just lost to the best team in the world playing at the top of their game.

That's our level, that's all. No shame in that. Tom English saying it's unacceptable on the BBC website is talking utter cock.

My prediction is Ireland will beat the All Blacks more easily than people expect (I think the ABs have been flattered by a bit of flat track bullying).

I think Scottish fans, following the embarrassment of their world cup performances and results, are perfectly justified in calling for coaching changes

All that hype and arrogance and didn't throw a shot, really, on Ireland or SA
