I on the other hand look at Trump, Johnson, Farage, Orban, Ertegun, Modi, the Uighurs, Jamal Khashoggi, Russia/Ukraine, Israel/Palestine (the foregoing list is not closed) and have difficulty avoiding the conclusion that the world is going to hell in a handcart.
The west will soon pivot to the right owing to (in some cases legitimate) concerns about immigration.
This will generally be a good thing and continue the long traditional of political pendulum swinging from left to right and back again to keep things on a generally even keel.
Anybody pathetic enough to consider Trump et al to be a major problem need to reflect on how they would have enjoyed conscription during the world wars.
It is completely insane to think the UK is in a worse position now.
