Didn’t think that Alan but yes now I do yes will keep my tax at 40 per cent - leave the Labour Party - perhaps even become Tory and send my kids to private school - fook it
Yeah I hate it to say it but a bloody brilliant strategy by Farage to protect the conservative vote at the last minute but to split the “never kiss a Tory” brigade who want to leave and stop them from voting labour.
It will be interesting to see if the shifts in the north endure, once the exceptional factors of corbyn and brexit are out of the way.
If it does it will be interesting to see what happens in marginal seats in the south. Difficult to be the party of Surrey and the party of Blyth Valley for long.
Andrew Neil is absolutely hammering every Tory he speaks to on how their manifesto didn't say anything so do they have any idea what they're actually planning to do with this majority.
I think the choice will be quite stark for Johnson. He has a majority and control over the conservative party. The only credible corrective factor for Johnson on brexit would be a credible threat from SNP for a breakup of the union.
And Johnson wouldn't want a legacy where he won brexit but lost the country. He will get a softer deal which works for all and use his majority to push it through.

You can hear the passion in his voice. He’s right the working class will pay for this and it’s Corbyn fault that we now have a Grade A tosser as a PM.

The swing in all these northern seats so far seems almost entirely to the Brexit party, not the Tories.

Which was always the plan. A lot of people up north will never, ever vote Tory. The Tories don’t care as long as they don’t vote labour

Labour have held many of those northern areas and wales areas without giving them a tiny shit based on jam tomorrow.
If these numbers are close then most of them will give the conservatives another chance at least once more.

For months I have read posts about how Tories are racist / xenophobic / hate the poor / everything else and therefore unelectable.
It would seem the majority of the country don’t share that view.

Or the majority of the country are also racist / xenophobic....

You can't imply that - other than that the majority don't agree they are unelectable.

I almost preempted that response but thought better of it.
Do you really believe that?

Yes I think the racist and xenophobic policies and rhetoric of the tories appealed to lots of people. It’s the underlying cause of brexit

Well, yes, literally you can. Would you be correct to do so? Absolutely not. Unless you're some kind of prodigious psychic.

I don’t particularly want to fall out, hence not really posting on here on this subject, or at all. But maybe keep watching the TV?
