‘A move to more rudimentary accommodation’

Plans to house migrants on ex-military bases, barges and ferries to be unveiled https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-65107827

Widely trailed

Are these the ex-military bases the govt farmed out to a massive PFI that didn’t do what they promised, left soldiers in shit damp houses and had to eventually be taken back with zero recourse to the fookers cos, as usual, an SPV was the contracting entity?

Perhaps we can use the Brexit ferries that SOV with no access to ferries promised?

come in Tories, your time is up. Please take the red cyanide pill upon return.

One of them is where they launched dambuster raids from.

Private entity offered 300m to redevelop but Tories said no because they need to have more rampant racism to win votes

Latest Tory ruse on show on R4 with Raab constantly saying "I'm not the immigration minister".

Is this what they do at Linklaters?

"Can I get an update on my matter?"

"I can tell you about M&A, but I am not a tax, employment, finance or IP specialist."

"But surely you have a basic understanding of the issues in each of those areas? I am paying you £1000 an hour and it is kind of an expectation!?"

"I'm not going to pre-empt our announcement on the Teams call tomorrow by going into specifics."

"fook off and send my papers to CC."

They are in not particularly pleasant hotels being given sh1t food and going vaguely stir-crazy and now the intention is to send them somewhere less pleasant. Genuinely f*cking disgusting.

MDT you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about so please refrain. The food standards are set out in the contract and the hotel standards, you guessed it, hotel standards

Maybe we can get some Rwandan migrants in to staff the prison barges? Get some of the Rwanda vibe without the hassle of breaking international law. Plus immigration is good for the economy.

Will no one think of Sue-Ellen’s dream?

How can she be happy whilst they are not being flown to Rwanda?

So why aren't they being flown to Rwanda? I thought that was the plan.

As I said on the other thread the barge is offshore worker accommodation and people in oil and gas are not renowned for putting up with totally substandard accommodation.

Hard to imagine how any accommodation could be more rudimentary than a Brittania Hotel.  Feel sorry for the paying guests who don't realise what they're signing up for.

If you were a homeless refugee washed up on the shore would it be so bad? People pay good money for cabin cruises. Better than the accommodation in Calais. They don't even give them a bed in the Formule 1.
