Funny because when someone stands at the end of the bar in a pub and waffles on about defensive formations they’re called a pub bore and don’t get paid a fortune.
It was genuinely quite interesting to watch the highlights without commentary or analysis - having to see for yourself rather than being told, as it were. It really brings home how little footage the Beeb actually gets (5 minutes per match) and just how much is padded out by the commentators and pundits (including replays of selected footage).
I don't really give a toss what Lineker or any of the MOTD crew says, I bet some of them have said some pretty unreconstructed things. But if they'd continued to down tools, I wouldn't mind watching the silent version.
