Marshall Hall

My copy of Easing the Passing arrived yesterday. Looks like a good read. I was in two minds given what’s come out about Devlin but given it was published long before any of that I chose to try to put that aside and concentrate on the trial.

Keith Simpson in 40 years of murder also covers it, including his role for the defence in breaking down Dr Douthwaite and how it effectively finished off Douthwaite’s chances of high office.

Cheers Crypto

I think I got my hardback copy shortly after it was published in '85, when I was doing a fair bit of crime work (£12.50  - which shows how much cheaper books are now after the price-fixing was abolished).

I've just checked the front-sheet and amused to see he dedicated it to his '21 Grandchildren'...!
