I don’t think the U.K. is so bad. Like most Brits I’ve never lived overseas but I’ve not found it much different from most other European countries, except perhaps Germany.
I don’t think the economic problems of the U.K. are caused by or can be fixed by the government alone. The workforce is poorly trained, not motivated, and often lazy. That needs a cultural shift.
The tax base has shrunk, likely because of the above, while the public sector grows larger and more expensive. I don’t think we should be increasing taxes any further but equally I don’t see huge cuts to the state as being an option. But we need to stop expanding and get rid of all excrescences.
I really don’t like liberal/wokeism. Only the Tories can stop it.
