... of the commercial property downturn.

We have a longstanding invitation from our warehouse+office landlord to buy the freehold. Don't want to buy in a falling market (but it would maybe suit us to buy it as a legitimate way of retaining profit so it can ultimately be liable to CGT rather than IT and thus probably not taxed at all as current value of company is well below base cost).

We had our own valuation done. Freehold OMV is about 12x rent.

Would you wait a while ?

 

 

Depends on if you need to raise debt to buy and if so what the terms of that debt look like tbh. If there is cash in the business to buy it with then it might well make sense if you can get it for the price you say is the OMV.
