I’ve been to Brookwood and it is truly vast.

Must have been a bit barren in the early days, but now with all the trees and plants, it’s a lovely spot.

Love the bit about golfers disguising themselves as mourners to get cheap rail fare to their courses. Assume they transported clubs in coffins. 

School friend was buried there.

rare agree with marshallrisky - cemeteries and even churchyards can be pleasant places to visit, and often are havens for wildlife.  I'd always planned for my ashes to be scattered to the winds, but if I had to be interred I could live with the prospect of hobbies nesting in the trees near me in summer and goldcrests flitting amongst them in winter.  

The Southern service from Brighton always appears to be carrying soulless corpses.
