I wouldn’t totally rule out the idea that labour moderates might be leaking themselves slagging Corbyn because they think persuading middle ground voters that he won’t actually become PM may help persuade them to vote Labour because they like the manifesto, or as a tactical anti Tory vote, or because they liked Tony Blair and remain sympathetic to Labour, whatever.

Im not saying they actually are this clever, but it would probably work, a bit, and it’s no more of a stretch than the FANTASTICAL ELECTORAL GENIUS usually attributed to self-evidently bumbling Tory “strategists” like Cummings or thag weird bloke who worked for May.

As Ashworth has repeatedly now said and all Labourites on media appearances are reiterating.

Let us not forget that Labour's official line is that "just bantah" is apparently an acceptable excuse whenever one is revealed to have said massively inappropriate things.
